With the continuation of the COVID-19 outbreak, travelling today comes with more challenges than in the past. Take a look at the following tips before jumping on your flight to Great Duck Island:

• Research what, if any, rules or restrictions apply to both your destination and origin. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so remember to check government advisories before booking.
• Wear a face mask even during airport screening. A TSA employee will require you to lower your mask temporarily for ID purposes.
• Do not hand your boarding pass (paper or electronic) directly to a TSA officer. Rather, position your pass on the reader and then hold it up for inspection.
• You can now take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on baggage. You'll have to remove it for screening.
• Remove items from your pockets, like your keys, phone and wallet, and put them in your carry-on rather than the bins. This will minimize handling during the screening process.
• If you want to take food through the security checkpoint, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA officer will need to touch your food container or carry-on bag for inspection.
